What is a Chemical Peel Facial?

A chemical peel facial is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to gently and safely peel back the top layers to freshen and brighten your skin. This age-old skin treatment dates back to the 19th century. Today the treatment is more sophisticated and refined and uses the latest in medical science and essential active ingredients to gently and effectively exfoliate the dermis for naturally smooth and renewed skin. Popular Treatments include a chemical peel for acne scars and a chemical peel for hyperpigmentation.

How does a Chemical Peel Facial work?

A chemical peel facial exfoliates and loosens layers of dead skin cells to stimulate the body’s natural healing and renewal process. Fortunately, this cosmetic procedure does not involve needles or knives, making it relatively painless and efficient. First, our aesthetic specialists at Cardiff Cosmetic Clinic will thoroughly clean your skin and then apply the innovative SkinMed peel on the target areas. This chemical skin peel gently and safely strips back the top layers of skin to stimulate your natural healing process for transformation on a deeper cellular level.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel Facial?

Whether you’re light or dark-skinned, SkinMed products are highly effective and safe for any skin type. This chemical skin peel works on a deep cellular level, effectively correcting skin conditions at the source for ultimate skin rejuvenation. Our peels work to improve skin discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles; skin laxity; active acne and acne scars. After our chemical face peel procedure, your skin will have better defence against external factors like UV Rays and pollution, allowing your skin to hold moisture, leaving it plump, supple, and fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How many treatments do I need?

Dr. Raj recommends between 3 – 6 peels, depending on your unique skin conditions and skin type.

  • How quickly will I see results?

Results can be seen within a few days to two weeks, depending on how long it takes the new skin to develop. Dr. Raj advises two to six treatments for optimal skin rejuvenation results.

  • How long do results last?

The light chemical peels last for one-two months, with the stronger chemical peel facial lasting several months.

  • What parts of the body can Chemical Peel Facial be used on?

A chemical skin peel can be administered on any region of the body that will benefit from its regenerating effects. The most common areas are the face, neck, and hands.

  • Is there any aftercare following chemical skin peel treatments?

Immediately after your treatment, there are many things to avoid to ensure you get the best results. For the first 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, spas, saunas, and hot showers. Do not take any medication following the treatment unless directed otherwise by a physician. For at least 5 days, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area. And for 2 weeks post-treatment, avoid facials, waxing, IPL, or laser treatments.
